Minnesota Identity Theft & Cybercrime Information & Resource Network Launch & Advanced Training

April 11, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

- Free

About This Event:
We are excited for you to join us for the official launch of the Minnesota Identity Theft & Cybercrime Information & Resource Network (MITCIRN).

The first half of the day will be the official first meeting of the network, featuring a welcome from former Minnesota Attorney General of the State and State Senator Skip Humphrey. Participants will learn more about MITCIRN, select a committee to engage in targeted efforts to strengthen victim support in Minnesota, and network with other attendees.

In the afternoon, there will be advanced training on often-neglected forms of identity theft (criminal, medical, child, and military identity theft), as well as training geared towards law enforcement, prosecutors, community outreach, and victim advocacy.

The Minnesota Identity Theft & Cybercrime Information & Resource Network (MITCIRN) brings together partners from community advocacy organizations, victim/witness programs, law enforcement, government agencies, and other organizations/agencies across the state who are dedicated to improved access to supportive services for victims of identity theft and cybercrime. MITCIRN meets quarterly to discuss emerging research, engage in training opportunities, share resources, and advance statewide efforts to combat identity theft and support victims through targeted committee work. Click here to become a MITCIRN participant today.

MAC has applied for CLE credit for the afternoon training portion of this event.
