About This National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Webinar:

Working with family members in loss of life cases can be challenging due to the complexity of issues, even for highly experienced advocates, attorneys, and prosecutors. Rachael Joseph will share her experience, expertise, and resources so that you can better support and advocate for families. The webinar is free for all.

About Rachael Joseph:
Rachael Joseph got involved in the victims’ rights and gun reform movements after her aunt, Shelley Joseph-Kordell, was murdered in the courthouse shooting at the Hennepin County Government Center in September 29, 2003. Rachael is the co-founder and executive director of Survivors Lead, a 100% survivor-led organization that takes a municipal approach to reducing violence in low-wealth communities and communities of color. They also provide law enforcement consultations to reduce police violence and political trainings instructed through a trauma informed lens for survivors of gun violence, sexual and domestic violence interested in running for public office. Rachael serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Alliance on Crime, is the former director of outreach and communications at Protect MN, and a former survivor engagement lead at Mayors Against Illegal Guns/Everytown for Gun Safety.
