September Webinar: Abuse, Violence, and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community

Learn about the prevalence of abuse and violence against Deaf and Hard of Hearing people, barriers to justice and safety experienced by Deaf and Hard of Hearing victims. and recent innovative work being done to offer more options for accessible and culturally-relevant services.

Presenters: 

ThinkSelf Minnesota Deaf Adult Education and Advocacy, formerly known as Communication Services for the Deaf, is a nonprofit organization offering tools, support and resources to Deaf community members seeking safety and opportunity.

Aaron Gutzke, Executive Director of ThinkSelf, graduated from Gallaudet University with a BA in English and Secondary Education. During his career, he has worked in Adult Education in both Los Angeles and the Twin Cities. Aaron has a Master’s degree from Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.

Steph Ritenour, Advocacy Manager for ThinkSelf, graduated from the University of Minnesota with an individualized degree in Addiction and Complementary Healing. Steph’s work experience includes Deaf mental health services, writing, and advocacy.
