Jigsaw for Justice: A Fundraiser for the Minnesota Alliance on Crime

November 9, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

- $50 – $75

Support the Minnesota Alliance on Crime, a coalition of victim advocates, and compete with a partner or build team of up to 4 people and see how quickly you can complete a 300-piece PuzzleTwist puzzle. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishing teams in each category (pairs and teams). There will also be raffle prizes. All teams get to keep their competition puzzle.

12pm-1pm: Check-in, raffle drawings, donate for competitive advantages

1pm-3pm: Puzzle competition

HOW DOES IT WORK:

Each team will receive the same puzzle concealed. You cannot see the puzzle before the timer starts, but as this is a fundraiser, you can donate for competitive advantages! Donate $10 and your team can look at the puzzle box before the competition starts for 30 seconds. An additional 60 seconds of time will be auctioned to the highest bidding team from each category (pairs and teams) that you can use to reduce your total time. Be sure to arrive before the 1pm competition start time to donate for advantages!

After a countdown, teams will open their boxes and start puzzling. A competition judge will monitor teams and record finishing times. Once you have completed your puzzle, you may leave, or stay and work on another puzzle and enjoy a drink or two! The event space will be rented until 3pm, after 3pm you can move to the main brewery and drink and puzzle there.

RULES:

  • Do not unwrap the puzzle before the competition starts, early starts will be disqualified
  • You may eat and drink while competing
  • You may use box top holders and sorting trays, but they will not be provided
  • You are allowed to bring extra lighting as long as it does not need to be plugged in to an outlet and does not interfere with the lighting for other competitors.
  • You are not allowed to distract or interfere with other teams
  • Judges will be moving throughout the space, when your team is close to finishing raise your hand and a judge will come to your table to record your finish time. If the judges are unable to come to your table mark your time down on your time card
  • You will have 2 hours to complete the puzzle, teams are encouraged to stay and complete their puzzle even if they don’t win. Times for all teams will be noted.
