Minnesota Criminal Legal Reforms: Minnesota Rehabilitation and Reinvestment Act
Liz Richards of the Department of Corrections Victim Services and Restorative Justice Unit will present on the implementation of the Minnesota Rehabilitation and Reinvestment Act (MRRA) which takes effect in 2025. The act allows for incarcerated individuals to earn up to 17% off of their sentence by participating in recidivism reduction programming, structured activities, and demonstrating change. There are several points in the process that allow for victim input, and locating victims will be vitally important.
